A colourful bedroom does not need elaborate joinery. Sage green walls, coral bedding and warm timber tones work beautifully with the simple rounded edges of Pencil Round skirting and matching architrave.

Keep the detail simple
Pencil Round combines a plain face with a softly rounded edge. It is a good choice when you want the wall colour, furniture and textiles to take the lead, while the joinery gives the room a neat, coordinated finish.
In this bedroom scheme, white mouldings provide a crisp contrast against sage walls. Coral bedding adds warmth, while the timber floor keeps the overall look relaxed.
Choose your Pencil Round skirting
Our Pencil Round MDF Moisture-Resistant Skirting Board is manufactured in Gosport, Hampshire. Each board is 3050mm long and 18mm thick, with 95mm, 120mm, 144mm and 166mm heights available.
Consider 95mm or 120mm for a more understated look, or 144mm and 166mm if you want the skirting to have a stronger presence. Compare your chosen height with the proportions of the room and the existing door surrounds before ordering.

Match the doorway
Repeat the softly rounded detail around your door with Pencil Round MDF Moisture-Resistant Architrave. Each length measures 3050mm × 69mm × 18mm and is available primed or unprimed.
Using matching skirting and architrave keeps the room consistent without adding ornate decoration. It also makes it easier to carry the same look into a hallway or neighbouring bedroom.

Pick your finish and plan your quantities
Choose primed boards for a head start on decorating, or unprimed if you prefer to manage preparation yourself. Measure wall runs and door openings carefully, allowing for joints and cutting waste. Plan suitable preparation and finishing for cut edges before painting.
