What is the Ogee Profile?
The Ogee is a distinguished and ornate skirting board profile with a rich history in classical architecture. Defined by its distinctive S-shaped curve — a concave upper section flowing into a convex lower section — the Ogee profile delivers a bold, decorative statement that elevates any interior. It is the profile of choice for period properties, Georgian and Victorian homes, and high-end contemporary interiors seeking a touch of grandeur.
Best Use Cases
The Ogee profile is ideally suited to formal living rooms, master bedrooms, hallways, and dining rooms where architectural detail is celebrated. Its pronounced shadow lines create a striking visual effect, particularly in rooms with high ceilings. It pairs exceptionally well with ceiling roses, dado rails, and picture rails for a fully coordinated period look.
Available Sizes
Our Ogee MDF skirting boards are available in a range of heights and thicknesses to complement any room scale. From a modest 69mm for subtle detailing to a grand 145mm for statement interiors, all boards are supplied in standard 3050mm lengths ready for installation.
Primed vs Unprimed
Ogee skirting boards are available in both primed and unprimed finishes. Primed boards are ready for your chosen topcoat straight from the box, while unprimed boards give you full control over your preparation and finishing process.
Why Moisture-Resistant MDF?
All our skirting boards are manufactured from premium moisture-resistant MDF. Engineered to handle the humidity fluctuations typical in UK homes, our MDF won't swell, warp, or delaminate over time. It accepts paint beautifully and delivers a consistently smooth, professional finish that lasts.
