When choosing skirting boards for a bathroom, consider the following:

2. Profile
Simpler profiles with fewer crevices are easier to keep clean in bathrooms. Square Edge, Pencil Round, and Chamfer Round profiles are popular choices for modern bathrooms. For traditional or period-style bathrooms, Torus and Ogee profiles work beautifully and are equally moisture-resistant.
3. Height
Standard bathroom skirting heights range from 95mm to 145mm. Taller skirting (145mm+) can make a small bathroom feel more proportioned and adds a premium finish.
4. Finish

For kitchens, pay particular attention to sealing cut ends — especially around dishwashers, sinks, and washing machines where floor-level moisture is highest. Choose a hard-wearing eggshell or satin paint finish, and opt for smooth profiles that are easier to wipe clean.
